Minneapolis es la mayor ciudad de Minnesota y el centro de Condado de Hennepin, Minnesota. Linda con Saint Paul, la capital y la segunda mayor ciudad del estado. Juntas forman el centro del área metropolitana de las Ciudades Gemelas, la decimoquinta mayor aglomeración urbana del país (y la sexagésimoquinta mayor en el mundo), con unos tres millones de residentes. En el censo de 2000, la ciudad tenía una población total de 382,618, haciéndola la cuadragésimoseptima mayor ciudad en los Estados Unidos.
