Helma Sanders-Brahms

Helma Sanders-Brahms (
- 20. November 1940 in Emden, Ostfriesland) ist eine deutsche Filmregisseurin. Nach der Schulzeit studierte Sanders-Brahms zunächst Germanistik und Anglistik in Köln. Während eines Aufenthalts in Italien lernte sie 1967 u. a. Pier Paolo Pasolini kennen und arbeitete mit ihm zusammen. 1970 gründete sie eine eigene Filmproduktionsfirma. Die ersten Filme stellen die Arbeitswelt dar. Unter dem Pflaster liegt der Strand wurde zu einem wichtigen Film der Frauenbewegung. In den letzten Jahren machte sie sich vor allem als Hörspielautorin einen Namen.
