Albany High School in Albany, New York, is a public high school which had an enrollment of 2549 in 2005. It is part of the Albany City School District. It opened on 7 September, 1868, as the Albany Free Academy. The school was based in the historic Van Vechten Hall at 119 State Street for the first seven years of its existence.
Albany High School is an International Baccalaureate school with a Advanced Placement program. The principal is Michael T. Cioffi.
A riot broke out in November of 2005 and 20 local policemen were required to restore order.
