Monoteismo

Per monoteismo (dal greco "μόνος" = unico, solo e "θεός" = dio) si intende la fede in una sola divinità identificata con il termine Dio. E' noto che spesso si è avuta un'evoluzione da un culto di tipo enoteistico, dove i fedeli accettano l'esistenza di altri dei stranieri, ma adorano solo ed esclusivamente il loro dio, a quello monoteistico. Le religioni che propriamente hanno questa definizione sono:
- Cristianesimo.
- Ebraismo.
- Islamismo.
- Zoroastrismo.
- Bahaismo. Tra le religioni monoteiste può, impropriamente, essere ricompreso anche l'Induismo perché riconduce la pluralità di dei ad un'unica "entità divina". Più propriamente, però, i monoteisti attribuiscono connotati di "personalità" al proprio dio tali da differenziarlo dalle altre divinità, che non sarebbero altro che semplice crezione umana.

Cristianesimo

All'interno del Cristianesimo, la teoria trinitaria, che afferma "un solo Dio in tre Persone", Padre, Figlio e Spirito Santo, ha incontrato molte resistenze nel corso dei secoli, come nel caso dell' arianesimo. La visione trinitaria non è fatta propria da mormoni e Testimoni di Geova, tanto che gli stessi non sono riconosciuti come cristiani dalle altre Chiese cristiane.

Ebraismo

L'ebraismo è la religione monoteista per eccellenza. Il popolo d'Israele si considera il Popolo Eletto. Il Popolo amato da Jawhé, l'unico Dio. Lungo è stato il cammino del popolo ebraico nel riconoscere l'unicità di Dio ed il rifiuto di qualsiasi altra dività. Spesso tale processo è stato caratterizzato da fenomeni di acceso nazionalismo, Jawhé è il creatore di tutto l'Universo, il solo Dio esistente, ma al tempo stesso il Dio di Israele, le altre divinità, non solo sono "finte", ma anche proprie di altri popoli. quindi il politeismo era visto come inquinamento della propria purità nazionale. Oggi, vista la presenza dell'ebraismo in molte parti del mondo, si è aperto all'interno di questa religioni un acceso dibattito circa la possibilià per i non "israeliti" di essere ebrei. Visto il sostanziale superamento della equiparazione monoteismo-nazionalismo.

Islam

L'Islam ha fatto propri molti elementi dell'ebraismo e del cristianesimo. Come gli ebrei, i musulmani professano un monoteismo "radicale", pertanto considerano i cristiani, vista la terotia trinitaria, dei politesiti, pur considerando, o forse proprio per questo, Cristo un semplice profeta, il più grande dei profeti, ma non certamente Dio. Anche nell'Islam spesso si parla di "Nazione islamica", ma questa esula da connotati etnici, visto che lo stato islamico più popoloso è l'Indonesia, che non appartiene al "ceppo" arabo.

Zoroastrismo e Bahaismo

Tanto lo Zoroastrismo che lo Bahaismo, nati in terre di confine tra oriente ed occiente, Iran e Pakistan, sono caratterizzati per un certo "sincratismo". Lo Zoroastrismo, pur avendo propri riti, è una religione che cerca conversioni, in quanto predica l'essistenza di un solo dio, di uno spirito amorevole, che spesso, vista la difficoltà di identificare, vista la sua "immensità" rappresenta con il Fuoco. Il Bahaismo ha anch'esso propri templi, ma fa proprie pratiche religiose cristiane, islamiche e indù. predicando la necessità del rispetto e la tolleranza tra tutte le religioni, perché sono tutte portatrci della verità. Nello Zoroastrismo e nello Bahaismo, il monoteismo non ha assunto gli connotati di violenza a volte accompagnatisi alla diffusione del cristianesimo, dell'islam e del'ebraismo. ja:一神教
