According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.1 km² (1.6 mi²). 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is land and 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 16.56% water.
Demographics
As of the census of 2000, there are 932 people, 381 households, and 326 families residing in the city. The population density is 276.8/km² (715.3/mi²). There are 388 housing units at an average density of 115.2/km² (297.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.10% White, 0.86% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.54% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 1.50% from two or more races. 2.04% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 381 households out of which 24.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 81.4% are married couples living together, 2.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 14.4% are non-families. 11.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.45 and the average family size is 2.65.
