Kopenhago estas la ĉefurbo de Danio. Dane nomiĝas la urbo København, kio venas el la malĝusta pononco de la dana Købmandshavn, kiu signifas komercan havenon.

Geografio

Kopenhago situas sur la orienta bordo de la insulo Selando (Sjælland) kaj parte sur la insulo Amager, kontraŭ al markolo konata kiel Øresund kaj al la svedaj urboj Malmö kaj Landskrona. En Kopenhago kaj la ĉirkaŭaĵo vivas ĉ. 1,8 milionoj da homoj. La Oresund-regiono konsistas el la Orienta Selando kaj Okcidenta Skanio (en Svedio), havas la loĝantaron de 2,8 millionoj da homoj.

Historio

Kopenhago estis fondita ĉ. 1000 de Sweyn 1-a Forkbarta kaj lia filo Canut la Granda. Ĝi estis tiam nur fiŝista vilaĝo ĝis la mezo de la 12-a jarcento, kiam ĝi estis la posedaĵo de la episkopo Absalon, kiu fortigis ĝin en 1167. La bonega haveno antaŭhelpis la grandiĝon de Kopenhago al gravega komerca centro (el tio la nomo). Ĝi estas daŭre atakata de la Hanza Alianco. Ĝi estis defendata en la bataloj kontraŭ la svedoj de Karlo la 10-a. En 1801 la Brita floto sub la gvidado de Admiralo Nelson interbataklis kun la dana batalŝiparo en la haveno de Kopenhago. Kiam la brita batalŝipoj bombardis Kopenhagon en 1807 por malhelpi la transdonon de la ŝiparo al Napoleon, la urbo suferis grandegajn damaĝojn kaj centoj da homoj mortis. Dum la 2-a Mondmilito Kopenhago kaj tuta Danio estis okupita fare de la germanaj trupoj, de la aprilo 1940 ĝis majo 1945.

Trafiko

Ekde la somero 2000, la urboj Kopenhago kaj Malmö estas interligitaj per dogana ponto/tunelo (Ponto de Oresund), kiu havas ankaŭ pasaĝeran kaj trajnan vojon. Ĝi estis inagaŭrita en julio 2001 fare de la sveda reĝo kaj la dana reĝino.

Beretta 950 Jetfire

The Beretta 950 Jetfire is a semi-automatic pistol designed and manufactured by Beretta since 1953. It builds on a long line of small and compact pocket pistols manufactured by Beretta for self defense. Based on very early Beretta models, the weapon is intended to be a very simple and reliable pocket pistol.

Specifications

The Beretta 950 Jetfire is a simple blowback pistol with a single action trigger mechanism and tip-up barrel. It is fitted with a frame mounted thumb safety. The frame is made out of aluminium alloy, the slide and barrel are carbon steel. Early models (Pre-1968) do not have a safety. As an additional bit of trivia, the Beretta 950BS was featured in the first few James Bond novels by Ian Fleming as Bond's gun of choice. It also made an appearance in the film Dr. No, where Bond mentioned that he'd used it for ten years and never missed, but was ordered to replace it with his now-trademark Walther PPK for more power, which has appeared in every feature since.

Intended market

The Beretta 950 Jetfire is a backup, self defense pistol that appeals to women, undercover agents and police officers.

Design advantages

Simple and small, very easy to conceal. Last resort pistol. Inexpensive, very easy to maintain. Well built. .25 ACP is a centerfire cartridge, which in many circumstances has been shown to be less prone to misfire than the rimfire .22 cartridge, a type used by other holdout pistols of similar size.

Limitations

The traditional .25 ACP cartridge is too anemic to stop large attackers, however, new technologies have led to better hollowpoint .25 ACP ammunition, which may deliver more stopping power. The safety system is very basic. The accuracy of the pistol is only adequate at short ranges.
