Обучался в Геттингене, был проповедником в Вормене, был членом Санкт-Петербургского Вольно-экономического общества и лифляндской Ökonomische und gemeinnützige Societat; написал: «Schubarta Klefelda padohms etc.» (Митава, 1789), «Vom Kleebau und der Verbindung desselben mit dem Getreidebau» (I, Митава, 1794; II, Рига, 1797), «Erfahrungen über die Wirksamkeit der Dünggattungen» (1802) и ряд статей в трехмесячнике «Gadda-Grahmata». Его метод жать клевер был принят в Швейцарии и Франции и описан в книге «Economie de l’agriculture par le baron E. V. R. Crud» (П., 1820).

Sweet noodle sauce (; also known as sweet bean sauce) is composed of grounded fermented yellow soybeans (that is, what is left of the soybeans after the fermentation of soybeans into soy sauce), flour, sugar, and salt. Similar to the better known hoisin sauce, it is used in Peking Duck and fried sauce noodles. It can be found in a typical genetics for identifying and sequencing long parts of a DNA strand, e.g., a chromosome. As the traditional chain termination method does not allow long DNA strands to be sequenced, this method works by dividing the long sequence into several consecutive short ones.
