Sianpuolukat

Arctostaphylos, sianpuolukat, on kanervakasveihin (Ericaceae) kuuluva kasvisuku. Arctostaphylos -lajeja on kaikkiaan noin 50, joista Suomessa tavataan vain kaksi: sianpuolukka (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) ja riekonmarja (Arctostaphylos alpinus). Sianpuolukat ovat monivuotisia, matalakasvuisia, suikertavia leveälehtisiä varpuja, jotka kasvavat maassa usein mattomaisina mättäinä. Kukat ovat pienet, ruukkumaiset ja hyvin ahdassuiset. Hedelmä on marja (tai oikeastaan monikivinen luumarja), jossa on tavallisesti 5 siementä. Suvun nimi Arctostaphylos tulee kreikan sanoista arktos (tarkoittaa karhua tai pohjoista) ja stafyle (tarkoittaa rypälettä). Arctostaphylos -lajeja voisi nimittää siten karhunrypäleiksi tai pohjanrypäleiksi. Molemmat suomalaiset lajit (sianpuolukka ja riekonmarja) ovat kuitenkin mauttomia, eikä niillä ole juuri marjastusarvoa. Sianpuolukka

Sianpuolukka (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) on sianpuolukoihin (Arctostaphylos) kuuluva talvivihanta kasvi. Sianpuolukka on koko maassa yleinen, jota esiintyy kuivissa kangasmetsissä, harjuilla, kallioilla, aurinkoisilla hiekka- ja sorapenkereillä, ja Lapissa myös tunturipaljakalla. Kukat ovat valkoiset tai punertavat. Marja on 10 mm kooltaan, sileä ja kirkkaanpunainen. Se on kypsänäkin kiinteä; malto on jauhoinen ja mauton. Luokka:Sianpuolukat

Riekonmarja

Riekonmarja (Arctostaphylos alpina) on sianpuolukoihin (Arctostaphylos) kuuluva kesävihanta kasvi. Riekonmarja on tunturikasvi, jota esiintyy mm. Lapissa. Kukan teriö on valkoinen ja marja on kypsänä musta, pyöreä ja mehevä. Riekonmarja kasvaa korkeintaan 50 sentin pituiseksi. Lehdet ovat lievästi hammaslaitaiset. Luokka:Sianpuolukat

Misiones (Provinz)

Misiones ist eine der 23 Provinzen von Argentinien. Sie liegt im Nordosten des Landes an der Grenze zu Paraguay und Brasilien. Südlich von Misiones befindet sich die Provinz Corrientes. Die Provinz wurde nach den Missionen der Jesuiten, den sogenannten Jesuitenreduktionen, die sich in der Region befanden, benannt. Hauptsehenswürdigkeit von Misiones sind die Iguazú-Wasserfälle im äußersten Norden der Provinz an der Grenze zum brasilianischen Bundesstaat Paraná. Auch die Iguazú-Wasserfälle stehen seit 1984 auf der Liste des Welterbes.

- Posadas, Hauptstadt der Provinz mit etwa 280.000 Einwohnern, Verwaltungs- und Industriestandort.
- Oberá, agroindustriell geprägte Stadt im zentralen Hügelland, ca. 60.000 Einwohner.
- Eldorado im Nordwesten der Provinz, landwirtschaftlich geprägte ehemalige deutsche Kolonie, ca. 50.000 Einwohner.
- Puerto Iguazú, Grenzstadt zu Brasilien nahe des Nationalparks Iguazú, geprägt von Handel und Tourismus, ca. 35.000 Einwohner.
