:For other uses, see KBS (disambiguation). KBS (한국방송공사, Korean Broadcasting System) is one of three major South Korean television networks. The state-owned network is famous for nightly newscasts and lavish historical dramas, although private networks such as MBC and SBS have produced excellent historical dramas in recent years as well. KBS has a total of two channels, namely KBS1 and KBS2. In 2002, the KBS Korean drama, Winter Sonata, which was directed by the KBS director Yun Suk Ho, brought KBS to a high level of honour and respect.

YTN is a 24-hour news channel in South Korea. It was founded on September 14, 1993 as a subsidiary of Yonhap News Agency "Yonhap Television News", and began broadcasting on March 1, 1995.
