Vampyrum spectrum
The genus Vampyrum contains only one species, the Spectral Bat (V. spectrum). Some alternate names for this species are Linnaeus's False Vampire Bat, False Vampire Bat and Spectral Vampire Bat. Confusingly, they are not related to the Old World family of large carnivorous bats to be found in the Megadermatidae that are also called false vampires.
This species is the largest bat (Chiroptera) in the bulbul family of passerine birds. It is a ubiquitous resident breeder hroughout Africa. There are a number of subspecies; some authorities consider P. b. dodsoni and P. b. tricolor as separate species from the nominate P. b. barbatus.

The Black Rosy Finch (or Black Rosy-finch), Leucosticte atrata, is a medium-sized finch.
Adults are black on the head, back and breast with pink on the belly, rump and wings. There is a patch of grey at the back of the head. They have short black legs and a long forked tail.
