Griekeland

Griekeland (Grieks: Ελλάδα = Elláda) is 'n land in Suid-Europa, bestaande uit die suidelikste deel van die Balkanskiereiland en 'n groot aantal eilande. Hierdie eilande vorm saam ongeveer 20 persent van die landoppervlak. Griekeland grens in die noorde (van wes na oos) aan Albanië, Masedonië, Bulgarye en Turkye. Verder is die vasteland van Griekeland begrens deur die Middellandse See (in die suide), die Ioniese See (in die weste) en die Egeïse See (in die ooste). Die grootste eilande is Kreta, Evia, Lesbos en Rodos. Griekeland is sinds 1981 lid van die Europese Unie.

Shannon Hills, Arkansas

Shannon Hills is a city located in Saline County, Arkansas. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 2,005.

Geography

2000 Shannon Hills is located at 34°37'19" North, 92°24'3" West (34.621858, -92.400765). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²). 3.9 km² (1.5 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 2,005 people, 748 households, and 594 families residing in the city. The population density is 512.7/km² (1,327.8/mi²). There are 784 housing units at an average density of 200.5/km² (519.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 92.02% White, 3.94% Black or African American, 0.85% Native American, 0.75% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.90% from other races, and 1.55% from two or more races. 2.04% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 748 households out of which 38.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.6% are married couples living together, 13.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.5% are non-families. 16.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 4.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.68 and the average family size is 2.98. In the city the population is spread out with 27.4% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 34.1% from 25 to 44, 21.7% from 45 to 64, and 7.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 95.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 92.5 males. The median income for a household in the city is $40,068, and the median income for a family is $43,021. Males have a median income of $31,184 versus $21,875 for females. The per capita income for the city is $16,292. 6.6% of the population and 6.7% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 7.6% of those under the age of 18 and 7.0% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
