Glarus (kanton)

Glarus, kanton i östra Schweiz.

Historia

Prince Edward Island general election, 1979

The Prince Edward Island general election, 1979 saw the election of a new Progressive Conservative govrenment, which was elected with a majority both of seats, and votes. This also marks the appearance of the only Party to contest a Prince Edward Island election that did not have a major federal cousin, the Draft Beer Party, which ran a single candidate, who faired poorly. The election was sparked when a by-election forced the Legislature into a 16-16 split between the parties, and in order to avoid a vote of no confidence the premier called an election.
